Travel Grants

The application for travel grants is now closed.

 

Successful applications for an EPA Travel Grant have been informed by email ​​​in December 2019.

Please note: Travel Grants will be awarded via bank transfer after the congress, subject to participation at the congress.

Following the change in the congress format,

Following the change in the congress format, we would like to inform you that in order to receive the travel grant, the following conditions need to be fulfilled:

  • You remain registered for the virtual congress
  • You have already paid for your travel and accommodation and you didn’t manage to obtain a reimbursement/voucher for the plane ticket and/or hotel.

If you still qualify for the travel grant, please send us proof of purchase showing the itemized costs.

Please note: If you did manage to obtain a refund for your flight and hotel: you will not receive a grant as no personal expenses were made.

Criteria for application

  • Applicants must be under the age of 40 at the opening date of the congress, 28 March 2020.
  • Applicants must be psychiatrists or trainees in psychiatry.
  • All applicants must have submitted an abstract to the congress via the website.
  • All applications will be judged based on the scientific merit of the abstract submitted to the congress.
  • Applicants must be registered and paid for the congress by the Early Bird registration deadline (those not registered at this time will not be considered for a Travel Grant).
  • All applicants must submit a copy of their passport or another document of proof of age*. This document must state the date of birth.

*We do not process national identification numbers so please black these out before submitting a copy of a passport/identity card

  • All applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from the head of their department with their application on official institutional letterhead; this letter should confirm that the applicant is a psychiatrist or a trainee in psychiatry and speak to the scientific merit of the candidate.

Note: Priority will be given to candidates coming from countries represented by EPA’s Council of NPAs (National Psychiatric Associations).

  • Only one application per candidate will be considered, regardless of the number of abstracts submitted.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.

How to apply

Application for an EPA Travel Grant is done at the same time as submitting an abstract.

Upon completion of your abstract submission, you will receive an email confirming your submission. There is a link to the travel grant application at the bottom of that email.
