Code of Conduct

The EPA and MCI are committed to enabling an event experience (whether in-person, virtual or hybrid) that is inclusive, respectful and safe for everyone.

We value each participant and want all delegates to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Accordingly, we expect all attendees treat one another with respect and courtesy. All communication should remain appropriate for a professional audience that includes people from diverse backgrounds.

We also recognise that participants may hold personal and political views that are deeply meaningful to them. To ensure the event remains a space for open scientific exchange for everyone, we expect all participants to help maintain an atmosphere of neutrality and mutual respect.

Event participants are solely responsible for their own actions.

Disclaimer

Expected Behaviour

In the interest of open and honest participation, we ask that all participants:

  2. Do not engage in any form of harassing, offensive, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or threatening speech or behaviour, including (but not limited to) relating to race, gender, gender identity and expression, national origin, religion, disability, marital status, age, sexual orientation or physical appearance.
  3. Avoid any political statements or gestures – whether in language, clothing, flags or materials – so that all attendees feel welcome and focused on the shared mission of advancing mental health.
  4. Comply with the instructions of the moderators, chairs and any event staff.
  5. Do not make use of mechanisms, software or scripts in connection with the use of the virtual platform or any action which is likely to impair the functionality of the platform.

Consequences

EPA and MCI reserve the right to intervene if any activity is deemed disruptive to the sought-after environment, including restricting access to the event if necessary. In such cases, EPA and MCI retain the unqualified right to withdraw access, cancel registration, or remove individuals from the event without refund, if their actions compromise the integrity or safety of the event.
Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in disqualification from participating in the registered event but also future live and virtual events.

Reporting an incident

If you experience or witness harassment, or have any other concerns, please contact the organisers by email. You may also report at the registration desk on-site.
