Early Career Psychiatrists (ECP) Programme
The EPA invites recent graduates to participate in a specialist programme designed to meet the needs and interests of Early Career Psychiatrists. The ECP Programme features a networking evening and a dedicated track of sessions throughout the Congress.

Early Career Psychiatrists Programme
An introductory symposium for those ECPs who would like to start a research career and do not have much experience in designing research projects and writing scientific publications. Prof. Stewart, author of the textbook ‘How to Do Research and How to Be a Researcher’, will present the most important factors to consider when choosing an academic career path. Prof. Sartorius will point out the principles of good practice when conducting a scientific study. Dr. Pinto Da Costa will present the perspective and potential difficulties faced by female researchers, and Dr. Sampogna will highlight the demanding path of pursuing both a clinical and an academic career at the same time.

In this debate, we aim to have stimulating discussion on the pros and cons of this controversial topic by considering its biologica, social and public health implications. Dr. Quattrone is a Cannabis researcher who leads an intensive psychiatric care unit while Dr. Keet is a community psychiatrist from the Netherlands, the country that spearheaded decriminalising Cannabis use.
