The EPA Research Prizes rewards the authors of the best scientific papers published in the last year in 5 different categories.

Among all the excellent applications received, the international jury selected 5 winners for the 2025 Research Prizes, who will be awarded a prize of €2 000 each and other benefits to attend the EPA 2025 Congress.

Applications for the EPA 2025 Research Prizes are closed!
Each year, EPA awards individual Research Prizes to promising young mental health professionals who publish outstanding Scientific papers related to psychiatry or psychiatric research.
5 winners will be selected by the Jury and will receive an award of €2 000 each, as well as a free registration to the EPA 2025 Congress, and up to €500 reimbursed for combined travel and accommodation costs if present at the Congress Opening Ceremony.
Young psychiatrists can submit one article under one of the proposed categories:
- Clinical psychopathology and refinement of psychiatric diagnostic categories
- Biological correlates and treatments of mental disorders
- Psychiatric epidemiology, social psychiatry, and psychotherapeutic interventions in mental disorders
- Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Best paper published in European Psychiatry

Eligibility
Applications will be carefully selected by a Jury.
- Qualify as an Early Career mental health professional (professional under 40 years old or within 5 years of completion of specialist training)
- Be the first author of an article published or accepted for publication in a scientific journal in 2024
- Reside in a country included in the World Health Organisation Europe region
The application process is fully internet-based.
